Members of the Council are drawn from academic institutions, public and private sectors and professional bodies in accordance with the University Council of Jamaica Act, 1987.
The Council is currently led by Professor the Honourable Errol Morrison, Chairman and Prof Brendan Bain, Vice-Chairman.
The Council comprises seven committees namely: Finance and Property, Human Resources, Internal Audit and Risk, Governance, Institutional Accreditation Review, Accreditation, Curriculum and Development and TVET Quality Assurance and Repositioning.
