Quality Policy

As the National External Quality Assurance Agency for higher education in Jamaica, the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ) is committed to safeguarding quality and standards in the provision of higher education and training institutions.

In so doing, the UCJ is committed to:

  • Provide external quality assurance services that relate to the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) Guidelines of Good Practice;

  • Operate according to ISO 9001:2015 requirements and promote a culture of
    continuous improvement in the quality management system;

  • Consistently provide products and services that satisfy the needs and expectations of customers/ stakeholders;

  • Maintain a culture of excellence through continual enhancement of the knowledge and skills of all staff members;

  • Comply with all relevant national and international laws and regulations, as well as internal requirements;

  • Engage and build relationships with stakeholders and other infested parties.
The members of the Council, the executive team, staff, peer reviewers and members of advisory and technical committees are responsible for quality in performance and delivery to customers/stakeholders, through adherence to the standards and core values of the organisation.

CAAM-HP

The legal authority which accredits education in medicine and other health professions is the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and other Health Professions (CAAM-HP).
