Distance Learning Standards 2022 Launch and Workshop 1

This was a presentation by Dr Jeanette Bartley-Bryan, Chair of the UCJ’s Distance Education Standards committee (2022). It targeted administrative personnel responsible for governance and financing in the higher education and training institutions.

A ‘Question and Answer’ session followed and allowed participants to interrogate areas of the presentation which were of particular concern and provided an opportunity for the members of the Distance Education Standards committee to clarify information presented in the standards.

This presentation was led by Ms Sandra Bloomfield with support from Dr Schontal Moore, both members of the UCJ’s Distance Education Standards committee. 

It targeted education and training practitioners of higher education and training institutions. The session covered curriculum design through to learner engagement, assessment and support and tied in aspects of the technology standards required for supporting learners – the student/learner management system (S/LMS) and the Learning/Content Management System (L/CMS).

Workshop 3 was presented by Dr Eraldine Williams-Shakespeare, with workshop support provided by Ms Sandra Bloomfield and Dr Schontal Moore all members of the Distance Education Standards committee. It targeted the brand ambassadors responsible for advertising, promotion, research and development in the higher education and training institutions.

This workshop provided meaningful interaction and contextual applications of the standards criteria included in the UCJ’s Standards for Distance Education. Participants interrogated the standards section by section to clarify any concerns they had.
