Andria is an Attorney-at-Law and the founder and Principal Attorney at WHYTE WALTERS LAW, a full-service law firm in Jamaica. A fierce and fearless Advocate, her approach to law is guided by her personal motto; “A Voice for the Voiceless, A Shield for the Defenceless, An Advocate for ALL”. Andria has appeared in several Courts in Jamaica, namely the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Parish Courts and is a member of the Jamaican Bar Association (JAMBAR).
Meticulous, efficient, results-driven and dedicated, Andria has a passion for advocacy and public service that extends to social and economic justice and equity for all. This sense for fairness and justice extends to governance and public policy, where she has formulated several policies leading to the successful implementation of several key environmental, socio-economic, infrastructure, and educational projects in furtherance of sustainable growth and development.
She strives to make a positive impact in her community and contributes to the justice system in her roles as a Justice of the Peace, Mediator and Restorative Justice Facilitator. Andria loves Jamaica, and believes that she has a duty in making Jamaica the “biggest little country in the world”. She continues to advance Jamaica’s sustainable socioeconomic growth and development as the Chairperson at the Anti-Dumping and Subsidies Commission, a member of the Board at Airports Authority of Jamaica, the EXIM Bank, the Norman Manley International Airport and as a Board member of the Jamaica Business Development Corporation.
Andria obtained her Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honours from the University of London and her Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School (NMLS). While at Norman Manley Law School, she distinguished herself as a member of the team that won the Qatar International Cyber-security Law Moot Competition in Doha, Qatar in 2018. She was nominated by her peers to be Class Speaker (Valedictorian) on behalf of the 2020 graduating class and was a mentor to first year students at the law school.
Andria is currently on sabbatical at the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) at the University of the West Indies in the Master of Science Programme in Development Studies – Governance and Public Policy. In her spare time, she likes to travel, go horseback riding, read and practice martial arts.
Dr. Lowell Dilworth is a Lecturer and Consultant Chemical Pathologist in the Department of Pathology at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. He has a diverse educational background, having attended York Castle High School, Titchfield High School, and the University of the West Indies, as well as the University of Surrey in the UK. Dr. Dilworth is also an avid sportsman and has previously owned a sound system. He has served as President of the Watt Town Police Youth Club and participated in various outreach activities with early childhood educational institutions in Kingston & St. Andrew. His Rotary journey began with the introduction to the Rotary Club of New Kingston by PP John Lindo, who invited him to a meeting.
I attended “the” Cornwall College from 1999 to 2004, where I excelled in accounts and got grade 1 in that subject. My passion for accounts and business subjects came from me observing my father, Oswald Martin at his company, United Finance Sales and Services Limited.
At the age of 17 I graduated from Cornwall College and straight from 11 grade I went to the University of Technology Jamaica. By age 21 I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. In May 2008, 2 weeks after sitting my last exam at Utech, I joined International Audit Firm, BDO Chartered Accountants (Kingston branch). I transferred to the Montego Bay branch in September 2010, where I am currently the Manager.
In 2009 I begun studying ACCA and by 2011 I completed all exams and became a member of ACCA on the 17th of October 2011. On the 12th of April 2012 I became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica.
In 2011, fresh from completing ACCA I enrolled again with the University of Technology Jamaica, where I studied for a master’s degree in Finance, which I completed in 2013. After my masters was complete I decided to become the first employee of BDO to sit and pass the Certified Information Systems Auditor exam, which I passed in December 2013.
In January 2016 I was appointed a registered public accountant with the Public accountancy board (Ministry of Finance). In May 2017 I was certified officially a Certified Information System Auditor.
I am married and has 3 boys.
Professor Andrew Spencer joined the Caribbean Maritime University as President on September 12, 2022. He was conferred with the Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander on August 6, 2024, by the Governor General upon the recommendation of the Prime Minister of Jamaica. Distinguished as the first individual to be promoted to the rank of full professor in the substantive field of tourism in the Caribbean, Professor Spencer served as Professor and Deputy Executive Director at the Mona School of Business and Management. In this capacity, he held responsibility for overseeing all undergraduate programs, demonstrating his adept leadership in academic management.
Professor Spencer served for four years as the Executive Director of the Tourism Product Development Company Limited (TPDCo), the agency responsible for maintaining, developing, and enhancing Jamaica’s tourism product, and the largest agency within the Ministry of Tourism. He also gave stellar service from 2013 to 2017 as the Director of the Centre for Hotel and Tourism Management (CHTM), University of the West Indies, Nassau, Bahamas
A scholar of exceptional standing, Professor Spencer holds a BSc. and MSc. in Tourism Management from the University of the West Indies and earned his PhD in Strategic Management and Tourism from Bournemouth University in the UK. His outstanding academic achievements were further recognized when his PhD thesis received the prestigious Institute for Travel and Tourism (ITT) PhD Student of the Year 2011/2012 award. His extensive research portfolio comprises over 50 scholarly publications and six (6) authored books published by top international publishers, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge and innovation in the field of tourism.
Currently, Professor Spencer holds key positions in private and public sector boards, serving as the Chairman of the National Insurance Fund, Chairman of the National Education Trust, Commissioner of the National Water Commission, and Director of the University Council of Jamaica. Additionally, he lends his expertise as Director on the boards of Express Catering Limited, Margaritaville Turks and Caicos Islands, and Director of the Sandal Corporate University. A passionate advocate for education, Professor Spencer’s leadership extends to his role as member of the Wolmer’s Boys’ and Girls’ Schools Board of Management, emphasizing his commitment to nurturing future generations.
The legal authority which accredits education in medicine and other health professions is the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and other Health Professions (CAAM-HP).
